The meeting of the GBACC Board was called to order at 5:40 pm on December 5, 2016 by GBACC President Terry Lewis.

Approval of Minutes

Minutes from November 2016 were approved by a motion from Ellis, second from Jerry

Approval of the Treasurer’s Report

GBACC Treasurer Ellis Burruss gave the report. The report was approved as given.

Budget for 2017:  Ellis passed out a budget draft for members of the board to consider. Suggestions were made to be incorporated in another draft for the next board meeting.

Office Meeting Space:  A meeting space for GBACC was discussed.  In January the Board will meet in the Main Street office, if the Main Street Board approves it. If the GBACC Board decides to stay at the Main Street office rental payment will be discussed and our possessions will be moved into the adjacent garage.  Angel will contact the Brunswick Heritage Museum to inquire about meeting space and Ellis will do the same with the Masons.  Ellis returned the key to the building at 9 West Potomac Street.

Open Issues

GBACC End of the Year Reception

Michelle discussed refreshments she will provide for the reception estimating 35 – 40 people.  Ellis will print out name tags.  Ellis will print a Certificates of Appreciation for the Police and the City Public Works Departments.  Smoketown Brewing Station will be honored as the GBACC Business of the Year.

Brunswick Business Expo:

Michelle presented a list of the comments from the exhibitors’ feedback form handed out at the Expo.  The Board discussed the list and possible solutions.  The list and comments will be made available to the 2017 Expo Group.

2017 Events:

The Events for 2017 were briefly discussed but only the January 2017 General Meeting/New Member Reception was given a date.  The other events will be listed in the newsletter as potential and will be decided on at a future board meeting.  The General Meeting/New Member Reception will be January 9th 2017, 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the American Legion Hall if it is available.  Michelle will check with Tim to see if the date can be used.  Refreshments will be served and one free drink ticket will be offered.  New Member certificates will be given to the new members and they can give a short talk on their business.

Welcome Totes:

The next delivery of the Welcome Totes will be this weekend December 10th.  The totes will be stuffed on Friday at 2:00 pm and delivered over the weekend.
