Opening:
The December meeting of the GBACC Board was called to order at 5:35 pm on January 4, 2016 by Terry Lewis.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes from December 2016 reviewed and approved.
Approval of the Treasurer’s Report
The board agreed to appoint Ellis Burruss as Treasurer. Ellis reported the list of recent deposits, expenses and the current balance in our account. Michelle suggested GBACC should have a budget. The board agreed
Open Issues
GBACC Annual Meeting and New Member Reception, Thursday, Jan 7, 2016
The event will be at the American Legion from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Angel will check to make sure the facility will be available at 5:00 PM and if there is a minimum for the bartender. A registration table will be placed at the door for attendees to get a name tag, a volunteer card, event calendar and a free drink ticket. Sheila Gray will be at the registration table. A networking reception will be from 6:00 to 6:30 PM then guests will be asked to take a seat. The food table will be in the middle of two rows of classroom style seating. The 2016 Board Members will be introduced and will state their name and their business. The new members for 2015 will be introduced individually and given one minute to speak about their business. Upcoming events will be discussed: Sheila will discuss BIZ 101, Ellis will discuss Special Events and Terry will discuss the Brunswick Expo. The volunteer cards will be collected and entered for a drawing.
Citizen Ad
The next advertising opportunity will be the Restaurant Placemats. The advertisement for the placemat is in the current newsletter.
Ellis also discussed a proposal from the Frederick News Post concerning the Brunswick Business Directory and a Brunswick advertising page in the News Post. The board agreed to invite the representative from the Frederick News Post to address the January 7 meeting
Website maintenance and update
The board has reviewed the web site and made suggestions for updating
New Business
GBACC Board Meeting
A site for a GBACC office was discussed. Ellis will check on some potential sites.
