Committee Reports:

Membership Report: Debbie – No new members were added in the last month. Debbie and Sheila will meet to discuss the membership committee.

Advertising/Promotions: Jerry – The back page ad was in the April 11th Brunswick Citizen. Larry Patterson of P&N Computer advised the board he received feed back from it. Dave Hall of Grasshopper Garden and Patio told the board he had received a call from information in the Welcome Totes. A Frederick News Post insert is being sold to appear in the Post before Mothers Day.

Special Events: Abbie – The Business Expo will be on October 18th and negotiations are under way with Brunswick High School to hold the event in their gym. The Fire Hall is not available on Fridays. Table rentals were discussed; about fifty tables are estimated. Each vendor would get a table and two chairs. Debbie – The GBACC Awards Dinner will be May 16th, 6:00 PM at the American Legion Hall. A list of awards with the explanation of the award will be sent out to the membership with a request for nominations. Then the Awards Committee will select the recipients. Table cloths need to be rented, food will be done by the Legion and set up will be done by the committee. The invitation, with a change of date, will be the same as last year and information for the program should be sent to Abbie. Terri – A mixer will be planned for June at Grasshopper Garden and Patio. Dave will advise on the best date.

Tourism & Instruction: Abbie – A training packet was created by EDC for the Brunswick Museum Visitor Center Volunteers. The packet has information on local businesses. A site on the GBACC web page should be created with photos of the area. The first class for BIZ 101 will be April 30th at the Brunswick Heritage Museum. Monica Spilman of 270net Technologies will conduct the meeting. The next three classes conducted by Christina May will be May thru June and will focus on media.
Business Community Relations: Dave will be meeting with Ellis Burruss to discuss this program. It may become more of a Business Advisory Commission.

New Business;

The nomination suggestions were discussed as part of the Awards Dinner (see above).

A meeting place for the GBACC Board was discussed. The board will meet next month at Roy Rogers to see how it goes and then a decision will be reach about a future meeting location.

It was agreed GBACC should pay for the refreshments used at the business meeting. A coffee pot will be purchased and supplies will be kept at the museum. Debbie will make sure everything is set up before the meeting.

A speaker should be included when possible at meetings, particularly the evening meetings. Jerry will look into getting speakers. Abbie will check to see when a speaker is available from the C&O Canal National Park Service.

GBACC will participate in Railroad Days and Jerry will fill out the application.

The information is in for the business cards except for Teri, Treasurer. Debbie will complete the information and order the cards.

Forming a committee to review the GBACC By Laws was postponed due to lack of time.

The GBACC 2013 Budget was discussed and estimates given. Abbie will review the figures and prepare a budget.
