OLD BUSINESS

Changes to Bylaws: it was recommended that the following amendment be added to the

GBACC Bylaws:

2.3 Retired business persons shall be eligible to join the Chamber as associate members

whether actively engaged in a business or not. They would not pay dues nor be eligible to vote

or receive member discounts. They would be encouraged to attend all events, meetings and

volunteer for committees and serve as advisors.

General Business Meeting, January 14, 6pm: Current membership list was reviewed. Meeting

interest card and promotion letter were discussed and approved. Ellis will mail. Promotion will

also go on GBACC Facebook. 2015 theme: Cultivating Our Businesses. Meeting location: Oak

Tree Inn. Sponsors: Terry Lewis, Rosanne Roe. Will seek sponsors for each General Business

Meeting. Each sponsor will have opportunity to share a little about his or her business. For the

January 14 meeting, Terry L. will contact Debbie Robinette to order food. At the meeting, there

will also be a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Penny’s Diner. The winner has to be present to

win.

NEW BUSINESS

Advertising/Promotions: Next promotion will be the Restaurant Place Mat co-op ads. Volunteers

will be recruited at the General Business Meeting to sell ads and act as a liaison between the

restaurants and businesses.

2015 Activities: Several activities for 2015 were discussed, including Shred Day (April 25);

Business 101 (2-5 sessions, dates and topics to be determined); GBACC Picnic; Community

Picnic (table only); New Member Parties (February and August); Railroad Days table (October);

EXPO (November); and Year-End Party (December).

The Board indicated that it would like to partner with the EDC on Business 101 again this year.

One possible Business 101 topic might be how to work with an accountant and Jim George,

who is a CPA, might be a possible speaker for that topic. The SBA and SCORE might also be

sources for speakers and topics. Other ideas for topics, speakers, and activities will be solicited

at the General Business Meeting on January 14.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:05pm. These Meeting Minutes were written by GBACC

Secretary Rosanne Roe.
