Call to Order at 4:30 PM
Treasurer Report: Teri Pizzlola gave the report and it was approved as written. The treasurer report is on file with the Treasurer and is available on request.
Old Business: Committee Reports:
Membership Report: Debbie Robinette reported GBACC currently has 86 members. Billing has been completed for the month of May.
Advertising/Promotions:
• The next advertising opportunity will be the Frederick News Post insert. Only three businesses have signed up for the insert.
• The Brunswick Business Directory information collection is completed and the directory is schedule to be completed before the Community Picnic on June 21st. Per Mayor Tome the City of Brunswick does not want to be associated with the directory. The board regrets the Mayor’s decision and adopted the directory disclaimer with no mention of the City of Brunswick or the Economic Development Commission.
Special Events:
• New Member Reception will be May 21st from 5 to 7 PM at Beans in the Belfry.
The GBACC Summer Business Card Exchange Picnic will be June 18th at Grasshopper Perennials. Members are encouraged to bring their families and some former members of GBACC will be invited.
• Expo – Ellis discussed the Brunswick Business Expo Committee recommendations for the event. The board suggested we either skip 2014 for the Expo and have it in the Spring of 2015 or have it in November 2014 skip the Spring of 2015 and have it the Spring of 2016. The board approved moving it to the Fire Hall but would like to see if the shopping center vacant food store is available.
New Business:
The board reviewed the selections for the Brunswick Business Directory. The first choice was a cover with the City at night but the board thought it was very dark and would not work for the directory. None of the other entries were considered cover material.
