Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 am by Jerry Knight, GBACC Secretary. The president is out of town, the vice president is ill.
Minutes
The Minutes were approved as submitted.
Treasurer’s Report was approved as submitted. The treasurer’s report is on file with the GBACC Treasurer.
Old Business
Membership Committee
Jerry reported for Debbie Robinette reported: GBACC currently has 83 members. Billing has been completed and reminders will be sent to those who have not renewed.
Advertising
Twenty-five welcome totes were delivered in September and the next delivery will be in November. The deadline to get your advertising material for the next totes distribution is November 6th to City Hall.
The Frederick news post Expo insert is sold out and it will be sent out in the post on Tuesday, October 15 and Thursday, October 17. The next advertising opportunity will be the place mat.
Events
Business Expo- Ellis reported on the plans for the Expo. Flyers and posters distributed and continuing. Large ads in Citizen, ad in 72 hours, insert in FNP and nearly 7000 EDDM cards.
The GBACC Holiday event will be in early December. Plans to give out the charity donations and some GBACC awards are being planned by the Events Committee.
Tourism & Instruction – Abbie was out sick so there was not a report from this committee.
New Business
Nominations were solicited from the floor for the 2014 GBACC Board but no one responded so the nominating committee candidates were announced:
Vice President – Terry Lewis – Lifetime Memories
Treasurer – Terry Pizzitola – River Valley Dental
At Large Members: Sheila Gray – Shaklee
Terry Shannon – Photohog
Sandra Lashley – Licensed Psychologist
There was a motion made and seconded that the slate from the nominating commission be accepted. Passed.
Ballets will be sent out and a special election will be scheduled in November.
What would you like to see GBACC accomplished in 2014? The following topic will be discussed at a later date:
The Brunswick Business Directory – Ellis called for volunteers for a committee to work on this project.
Business 101 – Have this successful program continue.
Speed Networking – This was done a few years ago and it may be time to look at it again.
