Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6pm by Terry Lewis, President.

Minutes

The September Minutes were approved unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report

Ellis Burruss reported that income for the past 30 days was $3,056 total with $2201.62 from EXPO registrations. The current bank balance is $9,555.13. The treasurer’s report was accepted as submitted.

Go2’s Report

Mehdi Tehranchi reported he is getting signs up and placing posters. He has software ready.

He proposed creating three groups within GBACC for Go2’s

  1. A Board member group used for communications between Board members
  2. A group for GBACC members
  3. GBACC public group

? is seeking a GBACC Board member to work with him to set up the groups. The time required is three hours. There is no fee for Brunswick to participate. Abbie Ricketts will be working with Tehranchi. They will meet on Monday, October 16 at 6pm along with Terry Lewis and Ellis Burruss.

Board and Officer’s Elections

A slate of nominees has been developed and includes: Sheila Gray – Vice President, Ellis Burruss- Treasurer, Tim Wilson, Phil Graves, Samantha Francis, and Mehdi Tehranchi- Board members at large. The names will be announced in the upcoming Friday newsletter. There was a motion by Ellis Burruss to hold a membership meeting on Wednesday, November 15 at 6pm with the location to be announced. Burruss will secure the location. Tim Wilson seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. Nominations remain open.

EXPO

Abbie Ricketts reported that the EXPO has 38 exhibitors registered. Ellis Burruss will ask Jerry Knight to distribute posters. A banner is up at Square Corner Park. The next working group meeting is October 20th at 6pm at the Brunswick Heritage Museum.

Membership

Tim Wilson has prepared a membership spreadsheet with 236 names of businesses that could be recruited as GBAC C members. A mailing list will be created. Ellis Burruss reported that two new members have joined James Rippeon of Weaver and Fitzpatrick Attorneys and Barbara Scheele of Daisy Girl Jewelry. Letters have been sent to members who need to renew and eleven need to renew before the end of the year.

Administrative Assistant

A motion was framed by Ellis Burruss that GBACC hire, with a budget of $1600-$2000, a part time administrative assistant. Tim Wilson seconded the motion and a unanimous vote in favor followed the discussion. During the discussion, a decision was made to have the assistant work under the direction of the Board President. The position will be advertised in the Friday newsletter. Burruss will draft an advertisement and a job description for Board review.

BIZ 101

Ellis Burruss reported meeting Jill Kurtz and recommends her for future classes in marketing. Mehdi Tehranchi offered to reach a class on how to use Google Drive. BIZ 101 will commence in January and February.

Co- op Advertising

Ellis Burruss displayed the new placemat. The Board is considering using the color format for future ones.  Citizen back page ads are being considered for the holidays. EDDM mailings are being considered as well if there is interest among the members.
